ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Proyecto Compasión is a 501c3 non-profit organization aiding impoverished orphanages and communities in Sonora, Mexico. Contributions to Proyecto Compasión are completely tax-deductible.

THE BOARD. The Proyecto Compasión board is comprised of five dedicated philanthropists; Gene Durfey, former WELS pastor; Dave Hansen, CPA; Alan Kohl, retired business professional; Kurtis Durfey, graphic designer; and Roberto Salazar, international lawyer. Every member of the organization is 100% volunteer. The board uses their collective business experiences to maximize their marketing reach at a minimum cost, yielding an impressive 5% overhead costs, meaning 95% of the contributed revenue goes directly to the needs of the children.

DONATE. Proyecto Compasión is always accepting monetary contributions for the Proyecto Compasión General Fund or for specific projects. To contribute to a specific project, simply mention the project on a note with your check, or in the space provided on our online contribution form. Be assured that your contribution will be directed specifically to the purpose that you intended.

Proyecto Compasión is not currently accepting physical contributions such as clothing, blankets or school supplies, simply because we are incapable of warehousing these kinds of goods, and it is financially pressing to transport these goods down to Mexico every several weeks.

In our experience, your contribution will go much farther to serve the needs of the children in monetary form. Contributions to the General Fund will be sent to a project on an as-needed basis. Every contribution will benefit the children.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. Proyecto Compasión is always looking for interested volunteers. If you are interested in visiting any of the Proyecto Compasión projects, please don't hesitate to contact Proyecto Compasión; info@proyectocompasion.com. Also please don't discount your capabilities as a long-distance volunteer. Information about how you can become a Circles of Compassion leader is available on our Circles of Compassion page.
